Canada Greener Homes Loan: closed to new applications.
CMHC says its application portal closed on October 2, 2025. Do not treat a past interest-free loan advertisement as a new offer. Existing participants should follow their own approved file and administrator instructions.
Canada Greener Homes Grant: not a new-application route.
The accessible NRCan closure notice identifies the Grant as closed. That notice is dated January 22, 2026; we are not using it to verify every later close-out deadline for existing participants.
Already participating? Refer to the correspondence for your file and the current administrator instructions rather than assuming a new Ontario program extends your old approval.
Do not confuse a closed program with all oil-heating assistance.
Save on Energy currently offers an Ontario EAP heat-pump route for qualifying oil-heated households. It is an assessment-led direct-installation process with its own conditions—not a reopening of the old Greener Homes Grant.
This website does not advertise a separate Ontario federal OHPA application route that we have not verified. Start with the current Ontario administrator for that offering.
Use the complete name and the current administrator.
“Greener homes,” “home energy rebate” and “heat-pump grant” are often used loosely. Ask which exact program is being discussed, who administers it and where the current terms are published.
The Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program is a distinct name, not proof that the old Grant or Loan reopened. We do not promise an Ontario application route under that name without a verified delivery process.
A quick test for an old offer.
Find its publication date, open the official source, check whether intake is open for your location and compare the required order of work. Do not enter personal details into a page merely because its domain contains a familiar program name.
REAL INSTALLATIONS
Heat-pump technology kept moving after the old federal programs closed.
Current Ontario assistance should be checked through today’s active programs rather than older Greener Homes articles or advertisements.
