Central, ductless, hybrid or all-electric?
A central heat pump uses ductwork. Ductless systems serve individual rooms or zones. A hybrid system keeps a furnace for backup heat, while an all-electric design uses electric backup where needed.
Central / ducted
Uses the home’s ductwork to heat and cool the rooms.
Ductless
Uses indoor heads to heat and cool individual rooms or zones.
Hybrid or all-electric
Keep a furnace as backup, or use an all-electric heating plan.
Explore current heat pump options.
Use the filters to narrow the list by manufacturer or system type. Select two or three options when you want a simple side-by-side comparison.
This is a curated list, not every heat pump sold in Ontario. Other manufacturers, including Carrier, have current cold-climate products. We only describe a system as a rebate candidate after the exact matched equipment can be checked against the program-required NRCan list.
About rebates: A rebate applies to the approved equipment combination installed in the home—not simply the brand or outdoor unit. Use this page to compare options, then confirm the exact system and expected rebate before installation.
COMFORTSPAN™
Central comfort plus extra room-by-room zones.

SIDE-BY-SIDE
Compare selected heat pumps
This comparison is a starting point. Final sizing, compatible indoor equipment and rebate eligibility depend on the home and the complete system proposed.
Before you sign a quote.
Ask the contractor to put the exact heat-pump model numbers on the quote and confirm any rebate amount in writing. If the rebate requires pre-approval, make sure that approval is completed before installation.
Also make sure the quote clearly explains the installed price, electrical work, thermostat or control changes, and whether your existing furnace stays.
Four useful questions to ask.
Will this heat the whole home? What happens on the coldest days? What is included in the installed price? Who handles the rebate paperwork?
A good quote should make those answers easy to understand.
